At the Leibniz Institute of Photonics Technology (Leibniz IPHT) we are looking in the Research Department Nanooptics for a part-time (75%) position for a
The position is to be filled from 1 December 2025 and is initially limited to a period of 3 years.
An extension will be sought if suitable.
The Leibniz-IPHT is a university independent research institute with close connection to the Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena and member of the Leibniz association.
The position is part of the subproject C1 of CRC-1375 NOA with the focus on exploring fundamental non-linear process of light matter interaction in low dimensional nanostructures. In subproject C1, a plasmonic hot spot-assisted time-resolved broadband coherent Raman spectroscopy method will be explored to study local chemical reactions at single-molecule level. Rationally designed nanostructures will be used to generate localized hotspots with the designed properties for the enhancement of the sensitivity of coherent anti-Stokes Raman spectroscopy (CARS). The target is to monitor local chemical reaction with temporal resolution and single-molecule level sensitivity. The selected person will perform simulations to design the structure (FDTD, COMSOL), nanofabrication to realize the structure (EBL, FIB), and optical characterization to investigate the optical responses of the nanostructures and the molecule-structure hybrids (in collaboration with other groups). Details of the research can be found at: https://www.noa.uni-jena.de/1254/areas.
